One Word Wednesday- 7/31/13

Never give up.

My mom and I hiked Poo Poo Point yesterday. Roughly 4.60 miles total round trip with a pretty good incline. I think there’s roughly a 1630 elevation change. Mom has been hiking more ever since her trip to Utah earlier in July. We hiked Rattlesnake Ridge last Sunday.. I am so proud of her for not giving up!

If you cannot already tell, I am always down to exercise outside and a hike is a perfect way to do that.

One Word Wednesday will be a review of the hike!

My fellow blogger Lindsay at Lindsay’s List, hosts One Word Wednesday. The only rule of “One Word Wednesday” is that you must label your pictures with one word. Sounds fun right? Heck yes! Sometimes finding one word to describe a picture is hard; you are allowed to do the #hashtag style.

I am not entirely sure if my mom will be going on this hike anytime soon. It may have been a little too steep. Whoopsie!

Do you hike with your parents or family members?

What is your favorite hike?

P.S. The giveaway ends tomorrow! Don’t forget to enter!

LÄRABAR® Review + a Giveaway! {CLOSED}

LÄRABAR® was so generous to send me some samples of their bars! I had never tried them before, so I was super excited when the box came. Who doesn’t love getting boxes, especially those with yummy goodness inside! 😉

LÄRABAR® was created by Lara in May 2000. “It started out as just a hike, no different than countless others I’ve taken into the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Little did I know I was about to come up with a mountain of an idea: Combine wholesome ingredients such as fruits and nuts to create a food product that’s tasty, healthy and convenient.”

You can find LÄRABAR® a variety of flavors such as: Lemon, Peanut Butter Cookie, Apple Pie, Chocolate Chip Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and many more.

LÄRABAR® also has three other types: ALT, UBER and JOCALAT.

LÄRABAR®  über® are uniquely sweet and salty and are made from whole fruits and nuts.

LÄRABAR®  Jŏcalat® combines chocolate with fruits and nuts.

LÄRABAR® ALT is the newest creation. ALT stands for Alternative Protein Bar.  ALT is different from the rest, because the protein source comes from peas, instead of whey or soy protein.

LÄRABAR® sent me these to try!

Busy Beez

Can someone tell me where the weekend went? How it is Monday already? The past weekend was full of a variety of events.

Saturday looked like this….

A little R&R at Lake Tapps.

My FIRST Quest Bar.

Threw a 10 miler in there.

Went to my mom’s friends backyard get together. The flowers were amazing.

Scenes from Sunday…

Hiked Rattlesnake Ridge with my mom.

Made a new friend. This little guy was hanging out with me outside.

Restocked for the week. 🙂

Blueberry Vanilla Protein Shake

 Recipe from Taralynn

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

½ scoop Designer Whey vanilla protein powder

1 pkt stevia

½ small frozen banana

½ cup blueberries

5-6 ice cubes

Blend together and drink up!

Ahmazing! I am just loving smoothies and shakes. I’ve been trying to get more fruit into my diet!

Do you like to hike?

Have you tried Quest Bars?

Here comes another Color Run!

Earlier this month I participated in the Color In Motion 5k in Tacoma and had a great time getting all “colorfied”. Is “colorfied” even a word? Probably not, but it describes how you look after perfectly. You’ll look like you tasted the rainbow! 😉

Looks like I’ll be doing another one next month!  Color Me Rad reached out to me about the upcoming race at Marymoor Park in Redmond on August 10, 2013. I jumped on the opportunity, because it is like 10 minutes from my house and the proceeds go towards Seattle Children’s Hospital. And who would pass up the chance to have a tsunami of color thrown at you? Not me! 🙂

What is Color Me Rad?

Color Me Rad is the best time you’ll have all year. Plain and simple. It’s like a food fight without food. It’s a race with no glory for the victor and no shame for the loser – only large slops of color plastered all over you and your friends’ smiling faces.

It’ll brighten your day literally and figuratively; it’ll liven up your Facebook page, give you hours of new conversation and fond memories, and you will eventually move on to become the next President of the United States. That’s our personal guarantee.

And let’s be honest, when was the last time you acted like a 12 year old? Unless you are now 13 years old, this was probably a long time ago. If you’re 13, you’re not our target demographic anyway. Don’t you have homework to do?

Where did Color Me Rad come from?

Color Me Rad is loosely based off of the Hindu Festival of Colors, otherwise known as, Holi. Just as you usher in a new year of radness in your life by signing up for Color Me Rad, Hindus usher in a new season, spring. The festive colors used are a sign of winter’s end and springs new beginnings.

Here are some ways to follow Color Me Rad: (you can also use just plain #colormerad)

Doesn’t that sound like fun?! All you have to do is show up wearing all white and by the end of the run you’ll be looking like the rainbow!

Here is what you need to do. Sign up! Come do it with me if you live in the area, or find the closest location to you. You won’t regret it.

Have you done a Color Run?

What kind of Adventure Runs have you done?

BTW, are you following me on Bloglovin’ yet? You should!

What the Bake Friday- 7/26/13

How is everyone doing on this fine Friday?! Yep, it is a beautiful day in Seattle yet again. We are spoiled

So for all the people who think Seattle has terrible weather, check this out!

Sea-town was noted as having some of the best summer weather! Thumbs up to that.

You know today is What the Bake Friday, so lets get to it!

Are you tired of ballz yet? If so, please tell me! I have just been on a fix’n for them!

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Ballz

1 cup oats

1 banana

4 TBsp PB2 (regular peanut/almond/walnut butter works)

1 tsp vanilla

1 TBsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1 pkt Stevia

Calories: 41

Carbs: 6.7g

Protein: 2g

Aren’t they attractive??

They taste much better than they look. But doesn’t that happen a lot with protein ballz?! 😉

I had a great plank sesh yesterday evening. Broke my record by 10 seconds.

Don’t I look happy? Taking a picture during the plank can be difficult. Usually I play words with friends while planking, because it makes the time go by quicker!

Any fun plans this weekend?

Have you joined the planking family?

XO, Tara

Mariners Game Recap!

Happy Thursday!! 🙂

I only have time to share some photographs from yesterday’s Mariner’s Game!

What a beautiful and perfect day it was!

I also had this…

There was no way I could finish it. We were starving by dinner so we all went a wee bit crazy on ordering.

Today is turning out to be another gorgeous day in Seattle. I cannot wait to get off work and go run and bike! 🙂

Does your work host fun events?

Tell me something fun that you’ve done this week!

BTW, the Recipe page was updated today!
