Seattle’s Kilometers for Cancer Run + The Banana Split

The question is: How will you help support or fund cancer research?

I have a suggestion for you. Participate in the Kilometers for Cancer Run to help fund research for eradicate lymphoma!

You know I’ll be participating in the 10k. 🙂 Please join me!

Here is some background information on the organization and the race itself:

Kilometers for Cancer is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening and expanding fundraising for leading cancer research foundations by promoting healthy activity locally through our sponsored community events.

Kilometers for Cancer is hosting its inaugural 10k/5k run and walk on September 15th, 2013, at Log Boom Park in Kenmore, WA.  Proceeds will benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation, which devotes itself exclusively to funding innovative research to eradicate lymphomas.

The race begins and ends in beautiful Log Boom Park. The route is fast and flat and takes participants along the famous Burke Gilman Trail. Participants will enjoy scenic views of the North shore of Lake Washington as well as music and local vendors. Kilometers for Cancer is a great event for the whole family!

100% of the profit from the Kilometers for Cancer 10k/5k Run/Walk event will be donated to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

I have a new smoothie recipe for you. It is called the Banana Split Smoothie.

½ banana

½ cup unsweetened Almond Milk

1 scoop chocolate protein powder

3 ice cubes

½ tsp Chia Seeds

¼ tsp xanthan gum

1 pkt Stevia

Mix all the ingredients together in a blender.
Dad even approved! I wasn’t able to get a good shot of that smoothie, because it disappeared real quick! Next time!
Have you participated in cancer research races? Earlier in June, I ran the Susan G. Komen Race with my mom. Great event and cause!
What is your favorite race to run?
Favorite Smoothie/Shake recipe?
