My workouts wouldn’t be the same without music. It keeps me going and pumps me up. I’ve never been able to run or workout without something flowing through my ears. I guess it just helps me tune out all the bad or negative thoughts that I may be thinking about. Who knows exactly why, but MUSIC makes the world go round.tumblr_lytikgT6LV1roi1l2o1_500_large

Greatist put together a list of the most popular songs in the U.S. for 2013. Tell me if you agree or not. Would you add some or take away some?

THE MOST POPULAR WORKOUT SONGS IN THE U.S.

1.       ”The Monster” by Eminem

2.       ”Timber” by Pitbull

3.       ”Work B**ch” by Britney Spears

4.       ”Wake Me Up” by Avicii

5.       ”Leaving You” by Various Artists

6.       ”Roar” by Katy Perry

7.       ”Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

8.       ”Till I Collapse” by Eminem

9.       ”Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke

10.   ”John Doe” by B.o.B. and Priscilla

I’d have to say that I listen to about half of these songs consistently for a while. ”Roar” by Katy Perry, “Monster” by Eminem, “Work Bi*tch” by Britney Spears and “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are currently on my running playlist. These songs just get me going on a quicker clip it seems.

I was surprised that “Till I Collapse” by Eminem was on the list. I thought that this song came out many many years ago. Just shows how much I actually pay attention.

Here are two of my favorite running playlists:

I need to find some new songs asap. I tend to play the same songs over and over until I am completely sick of them. Then I find myself going back to them in years to come. Any recommendations? Electric dance music is my go to genre.

What songs are you currently loving?

Do you workout with music?

Do you agree with the most popular songs played in 2013?

  1. I agree with most of those songs, some I haven’t heard. I LOVE running with music and I love even more spinning with LOUD music. Nothing worse than going to a class with shitty AND quiet music. BUZZ KILL!
