Brew Crawl

Hello Monday. Why did you have to arrive so quickly? The countdown begins until next weekend.

On Saturday, a friend and I went on a brewery crawl in Ballard. We stopped at Reuben’s Brew, Northwest Brewery, Peddler’s Brewery and Fremont. It was quite the afternoon.

Coincidence? I think not.

This was in the bathroom. Ironic.

Finished the night at the Troll.

Saturday was quite an adventure. I drank my far share of IPAs. So good!

If you live in Seattle, I highly recommend putting together your own brewery crawl with friends. You won’t be disappointed.

Sunday was spent relaxing and hydrating my body. I did get in a workout to try and sweat out some of the beer.

I am looking forward to getting a good run in today especially since it is supposed to be in the low 60s! 🙂 Perfect weather!

It’s time to get this Monday started.

Whats your favorite beer? Type of beer? IPAs?

Favorite brewery?

XO, Tara

Stepping Stones

Absence makes the heart grow founder right? Right!

This week has been a whirlwind. Literally. That being said, I decided to bite the bullet and quit my second job at Flywheel. After a lot of thought and advice from others, I knew it was the best decision. I’ve just been overwhelmed lately. Overwhelmed is an understatement actually. More like dazed, flabbergasted and beat.

My body and mind has definitely told me that I am close to my breaking point. I hate feeling like I am not giving my all to something that is important.

This week, I have learned that I cannot just push my emotions to the side.

Instead, I need to pay more attention to my emotions and listen to what they are telling me. Bottled up emotions only leads to destruction.

This week really opened my eyes and I feel like I honestly made the right decision. Luckily, Flywheel understood completely, which made me feel 100 times better! What a relief.

I apologize for the emotional/intense post on a Friday. But hey, it is FRIDAY! A bigger reason to be happy.

After this week, I will be much happier and I am very much okay with that.

What are your plans this weekend?

Have you been in my shoes before?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Speed Me Up Scotty

For me, music can make or break a run. Running with music is really helpful for getting into a rhythm, tuning crap out or just catching up on some good ol’ tunes. However, I understand that many runners choose to run without music. I envy you.

I’d probably drive myself cray-cray if I didn’t have music to keep me treking along down the road. I tend to listen to the same sort of music on my runs. If my mood is on the naughty side, I’ll turn on some rock or metal and let it scream. That’s only if I am in a “mood.” Most of the time, I am drawn to EDM, Pop or any sort of dance music. AKA- Happy music!

During the Mercer Island Half Marathon on Sunday, I chose to create a playlist that included  EDM (Electric Dance Music), Pop, Country and Dance.

Apparently, I haven’t figured out the whole screen shot thing on my computer or with itunes.

This playlist definitely helped me get through those damn hills on Sunday. Higher paced music really helps my legs get into a quicker pace. Speed me up Scotty! LOL.

Here are a few other playlists that I enjoy!

What type of music do you listen to while running?

Music or no music?

Mercer Island Half Marathon Recap

It’s Monday once again and luckily the sun is shining! Spring is definitely presenting itself pretty well so far.

Yesterday, I ran the Mercer Island Half Marathon and my legs are definitely feeling it this morning. Oh the calves and hammies are just kicking back at me. Overall, the race was challenging. There are like 52 turns on the race route and numerous hills. Mile 11 was a *beep*!

I had my usual team there to cheering me on!

Check out this video for highlights—->

Even though the weather was absolutely perfect for a Spring run, I wish I did better overall. The hills definitely made it more challenging and the fact that I haven’t been training as much added to that.

I didn’t come close to a PR, but I ran it in about the same time as the Seattle Half Marathon in December 2013.

However, I cannot get down on myself…..I just ran 13.1 miles!! 😀

Well, it is time to get to work. Have a marvelous Monday!

Be Happy!

Currently- Take two

Thank you all for the kind words regarding my last post. I really appreciate it! Definitely helped me get over the hump!

Yesterday turned out to be a great day. Work went really well and I accomplished so much throughout the day! Gotta love that feeling! 😀

I have to admit, I’m glad it is Thursday! Only one more day until the weekend. Yep, yep! Since, I’ve been in such a slump the past few days err weeks, I thought I’d share what I am loving currently. This brings a smile to my face!

Currently TV Show:

I just finished Dexter! AHHHH, really it had to end like that? Booo! I am in need of a new show.

I heard The Following is a great new show. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Current Excitement:

On Sunday, I am running the Mercer Island Half Marathon. Wish this girl luck! My butt will need it with all the hills.

Current Workout:

001I’ve been pumpin’ it up at Body Pump again! I’ve missed this class, because I can really push myself. Plus, you gotta show off a little. HA! Apparently, I need to work on making my station more presentable. Lol.

Current Polish:

Nada…my nails are naked and lovin’ it. They are able to show el’ natural.

Current Confession:

I started tanning again. My white ass body needs a wee bit of color and vitamin D. Say what you want, but here in Sea-town the lack of sun takes a toll on ya.

Current Recipe:

None yet, but I really want to these Guinness Brownies from Chocolate Covered Katie. Guinness plus chocolate all in one? Yes, please!

I mean look at that. Super moist.

Wait, I just said the word moist. I hate that word, but it totally works right now.

Current Book:

Do the Washington State Court Rules count? That’s what I’ve been reading. Super fun, I know!

There you have it. That’s what I’ve been loving lately while managing all the fun stresses that comes with LIFE!

Any recommendations for a new TV series?

What are you currently loving?

Talk to you tomorrow!

Stand Tall and Carry On!

Hello hello!

I am ecstatic to say that it is Wednesday! Hip hip hooray!  It has already been a long long week. I.AM.EXHAUSTED.ALREADY!

If you cannot tell already, I just need to vent today. There is a lot going on and I cannot hold it in.

On Monday, I mentioned that we looked at a house and wanted to potentially move towards the next step. Sadly, it didn’t work out. Major bummer.

It can get really discouraging and it can get you down, but I need to continue to pull myself up and stay positive. All it means that it wasn’t meant to be!

I will continue to do so. But…

Belle De Jour Power Planner 2013 2

Life just has been a bit overwhelming lately. Balancing all the things that I have going on has been really hard. I need to figure out  a balance.  I feel like my brain is stretching too far and I’m loosing control and failing. Failure makes me sad. Sadness makes me overwhelmed and gives me anxiety. I want to continue to learn and grow and be the best that I can.

Unfortunately, I had a  mini breakdown at work yesterday.  I think it was needed. A mini wake up call perhaps?

I am such an introvert and I keep emotions hidden until they build up too much, then BAMMMMM!

Anywho, my venting is over. I feel some relief.

Do you hold in emotions?

How do you handle emotions building up?

Take care,

An Anything But Silent Weekend

Howdy all. Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

Did you have a good weekend? Mine was pretty darn good. No work, just play!

Here’s what my weekend looked like. Don’t get too jealous…

On Friday, I got my workout on.

002 002

Got my stand up desk installed. Whoopee!

Drank a few tasty nitros at the Snoqualmie Brewery with my step daddio.

Ate some tasty Nachos.

Saturday began with a cardio sesh followed by a kettlebell workout. I also went house hunting again and actually found a place. We loved it so much that we decided to move onto the next part of the house hunting process. Buying.

Yell at me if you want, but I needed some Vitamin D.

Relaxed a little with these two lap dogs before heading out to the dive bar to watch Undercover perform.

Yes, I do wear normal clothes. However, when I do it still consists of grey or black colors.

Hello chicken fingers. Yum!

028 030

We called it a night around 11pm. We are big party people.

Sunday was a lazy day. Took a Power Hour class at Flywheel in the morning and headed to the airport to pick up my mom. She just flew in from Barcelona. Mrs. Fancy Pants.

I rummaged through four tubs of beanie babies. Yes, beanie babies. The toys that most of us girls obsessed about in the early-late 90’s. I actually found out that I have some that may not be a lost cause. We will see!

Well, it’s time to get to workie work. Have a great St. Paddy’s Day. Guinness will be flowing all day long.

Take care,
