I am not a fan of chocolate and mint together, so I cannot give this bar a fair rating…

Overall, I am wow’d by the wide variety of products that Vega offers. Consumers can choose from protein powder, shakes, bars and supplements.

After trying the different Vega bars, I would definitely be interested in purchasing their products.

Find Me By The River

Well, I am sucking at this whole blogging everyday thing. I’ve been so busy and I hate that I’ve been neglecting my blog so much. If you want a low down on whats been going on here it is….

I’ve been searching for my own place. This is my first time doing this and I’ve been pretty stressed about the whole situation. You’ve probably read in the past that my dad and I were looking for a place to share, but I recently decided that living on my own would be the best thing. I want to be independent!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been searching here and there for a place that would fit my needs. This past weekend was a good weekend. However, it was full of ups and downs emotionally. I viewed a two apartments and fell in love with them both.

Problem number 1: Don’t fall in love with something that isn’t set in stone.

Lesson learned…the waiting game sucks bad. I don’t think I slept Saturday night. I kept thinking about whether I am the best candidate, do they like me, do I qualify? Way too many questions.

With all the worrying, there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

I ended up getting the place that I wanted!! I’ll be living on the Snoqualmie River in a lovely log cabin style apartment. You may not know my past, but I’ve always wanted to live in a log home/apartment. Now I have the opportunity to do so! Plus, it is furnished. 🙂

Sadly, I don’t have any photos yet…but I have lots of photos of all the crap-o-la that I need to pack before I move NEXT weekend. Oh ya, I can walk to the grocery store or bike.

Luckily, I don’t have a whole lot to pack. I’ve moved alot-ish so I have it down. Through clothes into boxes and call it good. Maybe add a mattress and then we’ll call it good.

T-minus 4 days until the official move in day. We will make a weekend out of it. Move, have some fun, then move again.

On another note, I ran today in the beautiful sunshine and I managed to run 5 miles before my hip flexor pain started.

At about mile 5, I felt the ache in the same place. I was happy that I was able to get through 5 miles instead of 2 miles without pain. I feel like there is something more going on with my back that is leading to the pain in my hip flexor. I need to do more research…..

I am happy that I got this off my chest. I may be away here and there in the next week do to packing and getting internet set up. Don’t worry, I am not leaving you!! 😀

Have a marvelous Tuesday!!

Unfortunate News.

Yesterday didn’t end like I hoped. I recieved a call from my mother that my great uncle passed. Hearing that a family member has passed is never a good feeling. I felt terrible and I still do. I headed home after work to comfort her and bring some flowers! Flowers brought her mood up a bit.

I love these flowers, because of their smell and variety of colors!
Rest in peace Great Uncle Swick! You will be missed by so many!

I hope you have a good day.

I Earned A Vacation

Hello Hello! How’s everyone today? Good, I hope!

I am happy to say that I get to take a vacation in a few months. Yes, a vacation…I almost forgot what that word meant. According to Google, a vacation is defined as “an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling.”

My mom and I are going to visit our family who live on the east coast. I haven’t seen most of our family in 8 years. Basically since I graduated high school in 2006. It will be a great reunion!

We are planning on heading to the east coast in July for two weeks. We will travel to Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.

I honestly cannot wait, because there is alot of catching up to do. Plus, shopping in NYC will be amazing as usual!

Next up, purchasing the tickets for the flights which is on the agenda for this weekend. Then the countdown will be on! 🙂

Okay, it is time for work! Have an amazing Wednesday!

Easter Weekend Recap

Happy Earth Day!

I wasn’t able to share my Easter weekend festivities yesterday, but I’ll assure you that the weekend was full of family and fun. I managed to work Friday without any distractions and was uber stoked with 4pm rolled around. I headed home to meet my family and to meet our guests. We had the opportunity to have my step brothers come up from Portland. It was a great evening and the liquids were flowing fast. Before happy hour/dinner we all had a beer outside since the weather was shockingly beautiful and caught up on life. Next we headed a mile down the road to the local mexican joint called La Casita. Our friendly bar that knows us and our drinks are on the table before we sit down.

Cheers part uno.

Cheers part dos.

Typically, I am drawn to the beer, but hey a margarita sounded perfect. A margarita the size of my head. Thank gawd for the guacamole. I’d eat guacamole for breaky, lunch n’ dinner.

After happy hour/dinner/drinks/who knows….we headed home and the parents went to pick up my youngest step brother from the bus station up the road. Once they got home…shit got cray. That’s all.

#grelfie Hey Family Hey!

Typically Kasa shot…

Friday night was a great night. We typically go over the top but no one judges one another. We all had a great time and that is all that matters.

Saturday began with pancakes and bacon on the 1900’s stove.

My family is not normal. We have a stove outside from the 1900’s and yes we use it. You probably remember me sharing the pretzels that we cooked in this baby around Christmas! The pancake were yummy and I think Joe will continue to make them on the stove even though it took over an hour to get everything going for breckie. Luckily, I was sleeping on the couch during most of the “prep” time.

Post breakfast was tree time. Tree time means….the boys are in town so let’s cut down a tree. Let me tell you, Saturday wasn’t the best day to decide to cut down a tree…but it worked out. The tree fell where it was supposed too. 🙂

After the tree fun, we headed to see the step grandparents then it was time for a gym session. All the liquids from the night before needed to be burned off badly  (only to be consumed yet again). Ugh, I worked out and came home to head back to the store to get food/drinks to prep for the birthday party that we would be attending that evening. I finally came to terms that I would be gaining like 5 lbs this weekend. I’m wasn’t happy with those thoughts, but I need to remember to live a little and go with it. So I went with it.

Sunday was full of flower talk. We decided to just go with the flow and venture to Seattle to find cherry blossoms.

The arboretum was beautiful. My mom and I have never been there before surprisingly. Better late than never!

We wrapped up our Sunday at a friends house for drinks and dinner. I felt like the weekend was jam packed!

What did you do over the weekend?

Easter plans?

Did you have family come into town?

Organized Chaos

You’ve probably heard only a few times about how busy I’ve been at work lately. I feel bad, because I haven’t been able to write as many posts or at least put my whole heart  into them. I will get better at this, I promise!

However, since work has been so busy especially with all the changes, I’ve had to learn to become more organized. I’ve always been a pretty organized person who hates procrastinating; although, I’ve had to learn to adapt to a new environment and prioritize myself to their needs. Sometimes its like organized chaos. Things that are top priority on my list may be different from the attorneys.

With that being said, my co-worker and I have learned how to prioritize everything without feeling too overwhelmed.

1. Put together a “short list” of all the things that you want to do each day and prioritize them.

2. Meet with your boss/attorney/head honcho every day and go over the short list. Find out what is priority for them and adjust your list.

3. After the meeting, tackle each project one by one. Try not to jump from project to project; mistakes tend to happen if this occurs.

4. Work with one another.  My co-worker and I work together to tackle our short lists together. We may have different items on our list, but we still check in with one another throughout the day to see what has been done.

5. Check items off your list and praise yourself for finishing items. This is the ultimate reward.

What are your tips for staying organized when there’s too much to do?

I hope you’re having a great weekend.

Giving the beers a try

I love trying out new breweries and taking tours. It’s fun learning about the brewing process! Way over my head, but I’m trying!

Tonight, my step brothers are coming into town and we are going to head out somewhere to celebrate. Who knows where we will end up, but it will be a good time. I’m pretty excited.

Now,  I just have to get through the workday then I am free! Knowing that this week passed by so quickly, I’m sure today will feel like a half day.

How was your week? Did it go by fast?

Do you like touring breweries or wineries?

Have a great weekend and be safe!
