The Catch Recap & Mom’s Birthday

Happy Birthday to the BEST MOM that I could ever have!!!!Ā

Don’t ask how old she is, because she may only answer out to guilt. hehe! We’ve had a great weekend so far.

I mentioned that I went fishing on Saturday with family (mom included) and friends of the family. I would considered most of my family friends to just be family. I can cut out all the drama and get to the source.

4:30 a.m. came quick. I finally awoke to my alarm blaring for at least a few minutes. I thought I was dreaming about an alarm going off. It was real time. I managed to get dressed, brush my teeth, do my hair and fill up my water bottle. I cannot do much at 4:30 a.m. My motor skills don’t work that early. My voice and grammar doesn’t work either. However, my step dad has no problem with talking whenever where-ever. It was a struggle to keep up.

Once we were on the boat, we decided that it would be best to set the crab traps and then head to the fishing spot. Everyone agreed and it was time to prepare the crab bate and throw the traps.

After some time passed and the traps were set, it was time to boat to the “spot.” The spot is a designated area that our navigator has recently had success at. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best luck.

No luck. No fish. No practice. Only little shakers. AKA mini salmon that aren’t worth it.

After nearly 6 hours of fishing/hanging out, we decided to call it a day and head back to out crab pots.

Up close and personal with the crabs.

We caught out limit, which made up for the lack of Salmon. No one was disappointed.

Lunch at Anthony’s was necessary after a hint and miss morning fishing/crabbing. Anthony’s never disappoints.

Following our late lunch, it was time to head back to the Eastside, change clothes, and head down to Salmon Days. Ironically, there was a whole lot of Salmon talk happening this weekend. No problem at all.

Post Salmon Days, meant it was time to cook those suckers (crabs).

I won’t post anymore, because I know you understand what happened next.

WOW, what a long day. It’z time to celebrate Mom’s Birthday!!! šŸ˜€

It’s time to get weird.

I’m on a boat.

Wahoo it’s Saturday and it is early. Do you want to know what time I got up? Four freaking thirty AM. Too early for a Saturday morning.

Where am I? On a boat. It’s time to fish.

Please tell me you’ve heard “I’m on a boat” by Lonely Island….

I won’t be sailing on a boat today, but coasting and catching fish and crab. Yummm!

Fishing means early mornings. Heck, once you get over the idea of being up early and tired, the fun kicks in when you catch your first fishy. I’ll admit, that early morning fishin’ means early morning Rainiers. Last time, the first Rainier was cracked at 8 a.m. I was surprised, yet I understood. It’s part of the game.

Anywho, I’m off to catch lots yummy yummy goodness! I need some coffee asap!!!!

It was a great experience with the family. I would definitely go again! Especially since there are many more breweries to visit. šŸ™‚

What did you do over the weekend?

Have you been to Portland?

Favorite spot in Portland?

Hello, Three Day Weekend!

Boy oh boy, I am excited for the long weekend! How about you? Any fun plans? For most, this means that school is beginningĀ and summer is ending. Say it ain’t so!

On a positive note, thatĀ Labor Day Weekend kicks off the official start of Football season.

Guess what I am doing all weekend and into next week? I’ll give you a hint, it has to do with a furry animal. Yep, that is right…I’m dog sitting once again for a family friends pup named Cooper. I am becoming a dog sitter professional. Hit me up!

I typically just dog sit for my own family, so it will be a nice change to play with another pup. Kasa and Reese will be uber jelly. Sadly, the weather in the suburbs of Seattle isn’t looking so good. Rain and in the 60s. Blah!

However, there is a perk dog sitting for a couple who has an “in” at a local brewery. FREE BEER! I’ve been formally instructed to take advantage of the keg. Cheers to that.

Let’s switch gears to another topic: the gym. My mom made the leap and joined the local gym and I am so proud of her. Joining a gym can be scary if you haven’t been for a while. But it is the first step towards changing your lifestyle and physique. I am so happy for her that I decided to quit my own gym and join hers so that we can go together when we want. It is always fun to have a workout buddy!

Here are some benefits to working out with a buddy:

1. You are held accountable.

2. Makes workouts fun.

3. You can talk about gossip during cardio. (duh!)

4. You can compete with one another.

5. You have a spotter. This increases safety!

6. Motivation.

7. Time goes by faster.

Honestly, I hope to keep her motivated and on track. I won’t be a drillĀ sergeant, because obviously everyone’s fitness level varies over time.

On another note, I cannot wait to share my review of theĀ Flipbelt.

Stay tuned for my in depth review of this awesome fitness product.

What are you up to this weekend?

Do you workout with a friend or family member?

Do you prefer a “fancy” gym or a gym with basic equipment?
