It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Oh my golly. What a busy busy weekend. Jam packed with work, work party, Flywheel, decorating, baking, shopping, and more decorating. Holy smokes, it is like the weekend never existed.

Here’s a snip-bit of what happened…

This tree literally took like 5 hours to decorate. Why so long? Well, we couldn’t figure out “how” it should be decorated. Last year, we had a Seahawks themed three and this year I thought the beads would be fun. Then we had to go search for beads. We went to four stores, before we found any white beads. Low and behold, Freddies had them. We knew that we should’of started there first. Lesson learned.

Then…..we had to decorate the mantel and organize crap. This also takes time at our house. It is quite humorous.

Sunday consisted of Football and baking. I went a little overboard and made three kinds of bark. Last weekend, I made the Peppermint bark. These were a hit….But the Chocolate Toffee, Oreo, and Mint Chocolate are out of this world.

The Oreo bark is unbelievable. I couldn’t stop eating it. It takes just like Oreo cookie ice cream. Hands down my favorite.

I forgot to take a picture of the Mint Chocolate bark. But believe me, you wouldn’t want to pass it up. 😉IMG_3061Kasa enjoyed just lounging around watching us decorate and bake. Must be nice…

I wrapped all the bark into individual bags for my co-workers. They loved the sugar high before 9am. 😉 So yummmy!

I’ll be sure to share the recipes this week, before I have to make more this weekend for the party on Monday night. My Nana is coming into town, and we are celebrating with family and friends. The bark has already been requested…

Our house officially looks and smells like Christmas. Simply amazing.

I hope you had a festive weekend!

Do you decorate your tree the same way every year?

Real or fake tree?

XO, Tara

  1. Well, it is the first year where my fiancé and I are living together. I used to have a fake tree in my old apartment because I hated vacuuming up the needles, but he insisted on having a real tree this year. We don’t have any ornaments so we decorated our tree with a bunch of fancy ribbons from Jo-Ann Fabrics. It looks quite nice.

  2. It has to be a real tree, there is nothing like the smell of pine in the room (at least for the first couple of days). Of course on Christmas day here it is often around 90F so we have a bit of a different take on the whole thing. We’re planning a beach picnic (at a dog friendly beach).
